We’re the blackjacks and the lost
Struck down and double crossed
We’re the outcasts from the wrong side of the tracks

We’re the renegades and the rogues
We're better left out in the cold
But for the prodigals there ain’t no lookin’ back

We don’t fight alone
We are fire, blood, and bone
With the Spirit of the One Who gave His all

We’ve come back to count the cost
We been born upon the Cross
By the passion and the pain we stand or fall

It’s been a long, long road from the Garden to Gethsemane
The battle rages on
We have come to storm the stronghold of the enemy
At the Gates of Babylon…
WE DECLARE WAR!!!

We’re gettin’ ready to throw down
We were lost but now we’re found
We’re comin’ locked and loaded and we’re ready for a fight

We’re the secret that you just can’t hide
And we’re not to be denied
We’re the danger in the echo of the fury in the night

We’ve had our honor bought and sold
But we’re comin’ back to the fold
Right back in the battle is the place where we belong

With the darker days drawin’ near
There’s not an enemy we fear
Because what used to make us weak we know is gonna make us strong

It’s been a long, long road from the Garden to Gethsemane
The battle rages on
We have come to storm the stronghold of the enemy
At the Gates of Babylon…
WE DECLARE WAR!!!

I’ve seen your face before: I know your name
I’ve seen you out there on the street
Know what you’re lookin’ for—I feel your pain
Know what it’s like to take the heat

You try to leave it all behind you
You try to find a place to hide
Someday the past may come and find you
It might just take you for a ride

You got the hammer down; You’re drivin’ blind
But you’re just runnin’ from your dreams
You push the envelope with one foot in the grave
You always take it to extremes

Your apprehension is a bit too premature
How far you think you gonna fall
But in the hands of God you just might find the cure
And read the writing on the wall

A touch of Heaven is exactly what you need
The price you pay is not your own
Sometimes you win the fight and sometimes you might bleed
But never surrender...Never surrender.
You gotta go hard or go home

Cry…………desperate heart;
The voice of breathless night
You need a brand new start
You know the time is right

I know you’ve been betrayed; a Judas kiss
And now the battle has begun
From time to time you’ve prayed; from the abyss
And that’s the first step toward the Son

You’re sweatin’ blood, you’re stranded here in no-man’s land
Don’t let your past wash you away
To be victorious you got to take command
And take it all to judgment day

A touch of Heaven is exactly what you need
The price you pay is not your own
Sometimes you win the fight and sometimes you might bleed
But never surrender...Never surrender.
You gotta go hard or go home

Somebody callin’—my name
As I lie bleedin’—on the fields of pain
Somebody callin’—In the thunder and the rain
Somebody callin’—my name

Lost my faith in Heaven, lost my fear of hell
Lost my hope to think I could be saved
But the Voice said “Don’t you fear, I ain’t gonna leave you lyin’ here
Now get up! ‘cuz you ain’t ready for the grave.”

It’s just a flesh wound
But I can stand a little pain
I been to hell and back, but don’t dress me up in black
I don’t think I’ll be goin’ back again

Now I’m back on my feet; I’m walkin’ a wire
I’ve got a date with destiny
It’s a long way back when you been through the fire
Walkin’ wounded But I ain't walkin’ alone

Tore me up, tore me down Tore me all apart
Took me out and left a nasty scar
Here in the danger zone I’m gonna make a brand new start
I’ve only lost a battle not the war

It’s just a flesh wound
This ain’t the end of the line
The stroke of midnight’s come and gone I’m just waitin’ for the dawn
I’m only out of luck, not out of time

Now I’m back on my feet; I’m walkin’ a wire
I’ve got a date with destiny
It’s a long way back when you been through the fire
Walkin’ wounded But I ain't walkin’ alone

A child in time tossed on a gypsy wind
Never hung my hat at home
Just an old guitar and a fifth of rotgut gin
So glad to be alone

Checkin’ in to the desolation suite
I was sleepin’ on the floor
With a broken heart to make my stay complete
I was about to close the door
When I heard a voice I’d never heard before

I heard love…callin’ my name
I heard love…and I won’t be the same
Without love…callin’ my name
And I came, like a moth to a flame
Yes I came—to hear Your voice again.

 A Savior’s love whispered in a kiss
Put the light back in my eyes
Never knew the joy that I had missed
Never knew that I could fly
Got on my knees to cry

When I heard love…callin’ my name
I heard love…and I won’t be the same
Without love…callin’ my name
And I came, like a moth to a flame
Yes I came—

When the twilight falls and the shadows crawl 'cross the darkness of the age
When the night wind cries and the wicked rise dancin’ in their rage
I still hear your voice and I will rejoice ‘cuz you helped me turn the page
And You free me
Yes You free me
Free me from my cage

Hitch-hiked on Your grace and caught a lift
‘Cuz you never passed me by
Now I know it’s time to share the gift
With the lonely who still cry
I can tell them all that

I heard love…callin’ my name
I heard love…and I won’t be the same
Without love…callin’ my name
And I came, like a moth to a flame
Yes I came—again and again and again
Oh I came
To hear Your voice again

Hey…which way are you goin’?
When your cynical spirit has taken you out for a ride
Don’t look now,…but your uncertainty’s showin’
Your reason and logic are only a matter of pride

Why don’t you light up a candle?
And send up a prayer
I make you this promise
I’ll always be there

Hey…why do you wander?
You realize wandering could only mean you are lost
Hey…whose spell are you under
Illusions and fantasies usually will come with a cost

Step on out of the shadows
Of your dark despair
I make you this promise
I’ll always be there

There comes a time in everyone’s life
When you’re drowning in sorrow
And you suddenly find that your life’s been a lie
And your hope is hollow
I believe that you’ll find when your heart’s been set free,
Your mind is free to follow…

Hey…don’t keep hesitating.
The thrill of a lifetime is waiting to take you away.
Break the chains your mind’s been creating
The hour before dawn is the darkest—ain't that what they say?

Don’t look back on times past
It’s not your cross to bear
For my burden is easy
And I’ll always be there

Why don’t you light up a candle
And send up a prayer
‘Cuz you know and I know I’ll always be there

Forty years in the wilderness
Forty years on the run
Forty years spinnin’ out of control
I am the Prodigal Son

Forty years in the ashes
Forty years in the dust
Put my faith in Heaven above
Someone I knew I could trust

I’m on the high road to Heaven
My Father’s callin’ me home
A sinner who’s been forgiven
Back to where I belong
On the high road to Heaven
A man can tell right from wrong
It’s a long, long, road
With help from Heaven above
I keep carryin’ on.

Forty years on the highway
Forty miles of bad road
Forty years with no exit
Thirty days in the hole
Forty years in the shadows
Forty years in the dark
Forty years of searchin’ deep in the night
Tryin’ to strike a new spark

I’m on the high road to Heaven
My Father’s callin’ me home
A sinner who’s been forgiven
Back to where I belong
On the high road to Heaven
A man can tell right from wrong
It’s a long, long, road
With help from Heaven above
I keep carryin’ on.

I can hear Heaven callin’ my name
I keep my eye on the sky
My destiny isn’t fortune or fame
And now I understand why

Forty years in the tempest
Forty days of hard rain
Forty years of just keepin’ it real
With just my passion and pain

Forty years in the wreckage
Forty years of blind rage
Took a power that was greater than me
To bust me out of this cage.

I’m on the high road to Heaven
My Father’s callin’ me home
A sinner who’s been forgiven
Back to where I belong
On the high road to Heaven
A man can tell right from wrong
It’s a long, long, road
It's a long, long road
It's a long, long road
With help from Heaven above
I keep carryin’ on.

He grew up fast and lonely on the east side of town
On the backstreets of Chicago hangin’ out and hangin’ around
But he never ever gave it up and never let it get him down
He just cast a giant shadow of a man

Well he moved out to the West Coast back in 1949
Took his family and his future, and he laid it on the line
It was a risky proposition, but he didn’t seem to mind
He just cast the giant shadow of a man

Yours truly came along in 1951
Nick and Annie’s baby boy, I was my father’s youngest son
He taught me how to work, how to pray and have some fun
And cast a giant shadow of a man

Well the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree
When I look into his eyes I see a little bit of me
And when I have become all that I was born to be
I’ll still be walkin’ in the shadow of the man

A lot of times I wonder if he ever understood
After all these years I realize he did the best he could
To raise a son who walks a straight line and lives just like he should
And cast a giant shadow of a man

Well, life ain’t always perfect, sometimes it gets ya down
I’ve had my share of hard knocks and this is what I found
What goes around will come around and I’m just really proud
To keep on walkin’ in the shadow of the man.

You knew me when the darkness was my cover
You took a chance on a dream
You had my back when I was up against the wall
I know you know what I mean

You kissed the rain and drained my tears into your bottle
You touched my scars with your heart
From the beginning and I’ll be with you ‘til the end
You kept me from fallin’ apart

Never found a way to tell you what I’m feelin’
Can’t ever seem to find the words I want to say
But I’ll lay it on the line, tho’ it might take a lot of time
You can hear it in the music that I play

When I see you in Heaven
I’ll be standin’ in the light of an endless love callin’ your name
When I see you in Heaven
We’ll walk hand in hand once again

A hard man to handle, you took it all away
I melted into your eyes
You took the time to know me and you took the time to show me
You saw right through my disguise

You found me when I was the loneliest
I’d cast my soul upon the wind
But I’ll never understand just why you took my hand
To save me from a lifetime of pain

When I see you in Heaven
I’ll be standin’ in the light of an endless love callin’ your name
When I see you in Heaven
We’ll walk hand in hand once again

Is this for real? Don’t wake me if I’m dreamin’
Just seems to good to be true
Should I fall, you better be believin’
I’ll still be countin’ on you

Never found a way to tell you what I’m feelin’
Can’t ever seem to find the words I want to say
But I’ll lay it on the line, tho’ it might take a lot of time
You can hear it in the music that I play

When I see you in Heaven
I’ll be standin’ in the light of an endless love callin’ your name
When I see you in Heaven
We’ll walk hand in hand once again
